GENTLEWAVES PHOTOMODULATION

GentleWaves is a non-ablative (nonharming), nonthermal treatment that reduces wrinkles, pore size and pigmentation to produce smoother, more youthful looking skin. GentleWaves treatments are painless and recovery is instantaneous so that you can immediately return to your normal activities. GentleWaves requires several appointments: results are gradually seen, but increase with time and after each session. GentleWaves is also FDA approved for of wrinkles around the eyes.
Using a technology called Photomodulation, GentleWaves is a low-intensity light therapy that can modulate (increase or decrease) cellular activity. In other words, GentleWaves can increase collagen production while decreasing the production of enzymes that breakdown and age the skin.

How Does GentleWaves Work?
GentleWaves uses a technology called Photomodulation, a light therapy that emits coded pulses of light. When the skin is exposed and absorbs the light packets, the cells that make up the skin will receive and have different reactions to the coded light pulses. This way, mitochondrial cells that promote collagen production are stimulated and begin producing more collagen while production of enzymes that break down and age skin tissue is slowed down.

What Does GentleWaves Treat?
GentleWaves treats wrinkles, scars, uneven pigmentation and enlarged pores. Skin becomes smoother and looks more radiant. Results are typically seen in the third or fourth treatment, and improvements continue through six months after the treatment is finished.
GentleWaves can also be used in conjunction with other procedures such as microdermabrasion, nonablative laser treatments and both laser and chemical peels. In particular, GentleWaves is FDA Approved for treatment of wrinkles around the eyes.

What Are GentleWaves Treatments Like?
GentleWaves treatments are very relaxing. A technician applies an enzyme mask to the area to be treated which allows the light to penetrate into the skin. Then the area to be treated is positioned in front of the GentleWaves unit. A typical appointment lasts less than 20 minutes. Most treatments are made up of 8 to 10 appointments, with appointments scheduled once or twice a week. You can elect to have maintenance appointments at 6 to 8 week intervals.
GentleWaves can be used on all skin types and pigmentations and can treat other parts of the body such as the neck, chest, and lower legs. Few other treatments are approved to treat these areas.

Does It Hurt and What Can Go Wrong?
GentleWaves does not hurt and because it is a noninvasive treatment that does not require anesthesia, sedation or harming of the skin, complications are greatly reduced.

What should I expect from GentleWaves Treatment?
GentleWaves results show themselves gradually. While results are not as dramatic as more invasive treatments such as chemical or laser peels, your skin will look creamier, younger, and smoother. Results will continue up to six months after the treatment has ended.
